No. You do not need insurance to join a DPC membership. However, DPC does not replace health insurance. We recommend maintaining insurance for emergencies, hospitalizations, specialist visits, advanced imaging, and services outside the membership.

DPC membership visits are generally not billed to insurance. The membership is paid directly by the patient. Insurance may still be used separately for services outside the DPC membership, depending on the patient’s insurance plan and the outside service provider.

Some labs, imaging, medications, or outside services may be available at transparent or discounted cash-pay rates when possible, but they are not guaranteed to be included in membership. Final details will be confirmed before launch.

DPC may offer same or next-day availability when appropriate for certain non-emergency concerns. DPC is not emergency care. For chest pain, severe shortness of breath, stroke symptoms, severe injury, or any life-threatening emergency, patients should call 911 or go to the emergency room.
